早上九点电邮了Samsung，中午1点就接到了服务人员的电话。
Sent Samsung an email around 9am this morning, and the customer service person called me back at 1pm.
结果是……他们决定换一台手机给我。
Conclusion is... They are going to exchange a new handset for me.
不过我必须以坏了的手机交换。而且必须等两、三个星期。
I have to surrender my current phone though. Another catch is... I have to wait for two to three weeks.
感觉上打了一场胜仗，不过现在庆祝似乎为之过早。

这两周因为手机的问题很心烦。I've been really vexed because of my mobile phone lately.
自三周前，我的手机就出现无故关闭的问题。我不是一个喜欢把东西送去维修的人，所以便一直忍着，告诉自己可能只是偶尔会出现的状况。
My phone has been going into SOD (Sleep Of Death) frequently since three weeks ago. But I've never been the type of person willing to send things for repair, so I kept telling myself, maybe it's just an occasional glitch.
问题发生了一周，我实在忍无可忍——我不知道手机几时会自动关，所以家人朋友打不通我的电话联络不到我影响了很多事。
However, the problem persisted for a week, and started to affect me. I never knew when my phone was going to shut down, and when that happens, I couldn't be contacted.
在无可奈何的情况下，我到多美歌的Samsung Galaxy店面找职员求助。
Feeling really helpless, I went to Samsung Galaxy store to seek technical assistance.
碰到一个女生，很轻率地就说“哦，可能只是需要更新手机软件。一个小时后你再来拿。”
A girl at the reception heard what I had to explain, and simply said maybe your phone needs a software update. You can get it back an hour later.
满怀希望的我在下班后回到维修中心，手机在职员手中测试时就已经毛病重重，甚至无法启动。
I went back to the store after work feeling all hopeful, but to my dismay, the phone became more problematic when I was at the claiming counter, and had problems to even just start up.
不过我还是认为是自己多疑，当那服务人员告诉我“手机好了”，我就领回家去了。
I still chose to believe that maybe I am the paranoid one, and believed the staff when she told me that your phone is repaired. So I took and left.
还没离开多美歌地铁站，手机便又自动关闭了。多疑吗？我选择给手机一个晚上的时间。
The phone began the same old shut-down-and-Im-not-telling-you problem even before I left Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Maybe I am paranoid? I decided to test it out for a night.
让我失望的是——送去维修前，手机自动关后，只要我再启动一切资料还在。维修后，每次再启动手机，一切的设置和资料都被刷掉，一切归零。
To my disappointment, the problem became WORST. Before sending for repair and update, my phone would shut off by itself, but all I had to do was switch it on again. At least my information, apps and settings were still intact. After the so-called repair, my phone resets itself, all settings and whatnot, every single time after it shuts down.
两天后又回到了维修店，这次坚决不让他们在柜台就打发我走，坚持拿号码让他们彻底检查。
I went back to the repair shop two days later, this time around determined not to let them patronise me at the reception.
不知道是不是我的心情不好，Samsung的职员很没有诚意，做事随随便便的，让人很不放心。并不是说，把我的手机壳装在袋子还我就是“诚意、用心”，因为客服更重要的是态度。
Maybe because of my foul mood, I felt like the staff there wasn't very sincere, and in a local sense, very anyhow. The last thing they conveyed was assurance. Just because you take my phone and battery, and return my phone cover in a neatly taped plastic bag, means that your service is good and sincere. The core of customer service is attitude.
服务员告诉我三天后会把手机送回我家，说真的？我不稀罕。
The staff told me that they would send my phone to my house three days later, when they are done servicing it. Honestly speaking? Delivery isn't such a bonus to me. Meh.
如果修得好，再远我都不介意走一回。这么烂的客服，一次我都嫌多，更何况还去了两次。但我跟职员强调请进行透彻的检查，因为我不想再来第三次。检察多久随便你们。
If the phone can truly be repaired, I don't mind making an hour-long trip ONCE. With such horrible customer service, I hate to even go once, not to mention twice. So I told the employee to make sure my phone gets a thorough check, because I don't want to go back for a THIRD time. Keep the phone however long you want/have/need to.
昨天傍晚收到手机，两个钟头后同样的问题发生了。

这解决不了的问题很让我伤心，因为一个公司的无能、一群职员的草率、科技的不足，不应该由我来承担受罪。

个性 · Character
如果说性格是30%基因和70%环境影响，那么我的个性就是高压电锅，能够在高压情况下游刃有余，在轻松环境中散漫并缺乏动力。
我从来就不是一个善于安排时间的人。所以小学起我就是那种八点才开始拿出作业簿的小孩，而且大多会拖时间，搞到十一、二点才能睡觉。早上7.15的升旗礼，我6.45分才起床，7点还在收书包，然后才飞奔到学校。
在中学时期，班主任的评语也总离不开"needs better time management"。
我很喜欢高压的生活节奏，越是不够时间越是能够交出卓越的成绩。高压就是我人生的意义。
不过，我的个性真的很奇怪。虽然很喜欢压力大的环境，但却不喜欢别人逼迫我。
就像是情侣间的承诺，时间未到却一直逼对方负责任，我就是那种被逼了会逃走的个性。
第六感对我来说是做出选择的关键。如果我感觉不对，做什么都不顺心、不顺意。没有灵感的画家怎么绘画出富有情感的作品？人为牵强的创造，永远都没有自然而完美的创作。
也许娱乐界就是因为发展的压力太大吧，缺乏了创作激情的作品只能用肤浅或刻意的题材，潦草地形成‘创作’。
从理工学院毕业后，我重新翻阅自己的作品，轻易地就能看出哪些是有感而发、哪些是牵强的写作。创意，是勉强不来的。
我的性格也就是如此，当下觉得不想做的事情，很难全情投入，也觉得没有意义。我非常反感别人勉强我，当成是一种“对我好”的压力，但对我而言，我的心封闭了，一无所获。
倔强吗？也许吧。但是我尊重这样的自己。所以也希望别人能够尊重我的意愿，不要再为难我。

Twitter's RIP Trend
很多人都知道报导新闻的记者总是和时间赛跑，争个独家、争个第一。在社交网站火红的科技时代，很多人都是通过各网站的“趋势”而得知新闻。
As many people know, journalists often race against time to compete for news publication, aiming to for exclusives or to be the first to report. In this digital age, many people often learn about news via social media.
但是最近有个让我很排斥的现象发生了——人们为了‘报复’故意传达假的消息，在Twitter上让RIP XXX成趋势（trending topics）。
But that has been a trend I hate recently - people often abuse the use of Twitter trends to spread hoax RIP (Rest In Peace) rumours for "revenge".
第一次注意到的是RIP Madonna。
The first one that caught my attention was RIP Madonna.
出现这样的趋势让我吓了一跳，尤其因为距离Whitney Houston的过世不久，算是敏感的时期。有必要吗？
RIP Madonna appearing on the Twitter trends gave me a scare, especially because it wasn't long ago that I learnt about Whitney Houston's death from the trends. It's an exceptionally sensitive period of time, and I questioned the need for people to get back at Madonna for their dissatisfaction.
糟糕的歌曲不时都会有，每个人也都会犯错。就因为她是天后级人物就有必要这样整她吗？真的是滥用了科技。
Awful songs are produced every now and then, and everyone makes mistakes. Do they have to get back at her for a mistake just because she's a popstar? It was truly a case of tech-abuse.
第二次是RIP Chris Brown。
The second one I can recall was RIP Chris Brown.

Cyber users are the pros at bearing grudge.
犯过错而被“封杀”的他在颁奖典礼上表演，就引起网民激烈的反应。他固然犯了错，但网民是否就有资格这样恶搞他呢？见仁见智。（点击此阅读新闻）
He did wrong previously, but targetting him just because he appeared for the Grammys? The mistake reflects his character, but he's still an artist, so do people really have the right to trend that he died? Depends on whether you think character and music are linked.

I saw a comment about how Twitter has announced more deaths of celebrities than is real, and other stars who fell victim to that include talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Kim Kardashian and even Eddie Murphy.
有个值得关注的重点是有时新闻社都会放错消息。当然，这些谣言的存在提醒着我们网上得到的资讯必须亲自确认，不能全部当真。至少在中学学的历史分析方法cross reference还算是派得上用场吧，哈哈。
One thing that's worth the highlight? Even news sources make mistakes. It serves as a good reminder that while Internet is a source of information, we have to verify by cross-checking with a few other sources, and take everything with a pinch of salt (or more). The comforting thing is that at least cross-referencing learnt from History examination is of use in real life.

I saw a comment about how Twitter has announced more deaths of celebrities than is real, and other stars who fell victim to that include talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Kim Kardashian and even Eddie Murphy.
有个值得关注的重点是有时新闻社都会放错消息。当然，这些谣言的存在提醒着我们网上得到的资讯必须亲自确认，不能全部当真。至少在中学学的历史分析方法cross reference还算是派得上用场吧，哈哈。
One thing that's worth the highlight? Even news sources make mistakes. It serves as a good reminder that while Internet is a source of information, we have to verify by cross-checking with a few other sources, and take everything with a pinch of salt (or more). The comforting thing is that at least cross-referencing learnt from History examination is of use in real life.
